College Showcases
For those that have dreams of playing in college, you are in the right place!
SC Midlands is known for helping athletes reach their college dreams. If you are a college bound, check out these awesome opportunities that we have compiled for you. Depending on the event, our athletes can gain entry and exposure. Our teams will attend several of these tournaments, and athletes are encouraged to register for showcase events.
Southern Volleyball Showcase (Sat Dec 2, 2017)
One of the top recruiting combines in the country, the Southern Volleyball Showcase provides a vehicle for athletes playing 16’s and above in club to demonstrate their volleyball skills to some 100 college coaches. It will be held on Saturday, December 2nd, 2017 at Suwanee Sports Academy. Click here for more info.
East Coast Volleyball Showcase (Sun Dec 3, 2017)
The annual East Coast Volleyball Showcase is for 9th-12th graders. It will be held on Sunday December 4th at the Greensboro Sportsplex in Greensboro, North Carolina. This year student-athletes will participate in a clinic, perform in position drills, and play in matches. Players will be evaluated by tournament staff and grouped based on ability. AVCA Phenom College Preparatory Program (Dec 14 - Dec 17, 2017)
This college prep program is held in conjunction with the AVCA Convention and the NCAA Division I Women’s National Championship. It features a talent showcase attended each year by over 100 college coaches. This year's site will be at the Kansas City Convention Center. Players will undergo physical testing that will result in a Volleyball Performance Index score, a validated measure of their potential. Participants will also take a learning-style assessment which will produce an Athlete Behavioral Profile. Attending the NCAA DI Championship and the Under Armour All-America High School Volleyball Match provides inspiration and engaging in discussions with current college All-Americans. The goal is to give Phenoms an idea of what to expect and what to look for in making their college choices. The weekend culminates with the AVCA Talent Showcase where college coaches spend time evaluating Phenoms in volleyball-specific drills. Click here for more info.

Monument City Classic Tournament (Sat Jan 13 - Mon Jan 15, 2018)
Held every January in Richmond, Virginia, the Monument City Classic features some of the best clubs and teams from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and beyond. South Carolina athletes have a chance to play high level volleyball and gain exposure to college coaches.

USA Volleyball High Performance Tryouts (Fri Mar 10, 2018)

Big South National Qualifier (Mar 30-Apr 1, 2018)
The Big South National Qualifier is one of eleven national qualifiers in the nation. Held in Atlanta, Georgia, this tournament grows every year in both the number of attending teams as well as in tournament strength. SC Midlands teams play in the National Qualifier to gain exposure to college coaches at the DI, DII, DIII, and NAIA levels. Click here for tournament info. Approximately 1,300 plus teams attend Big South, each striving for a bid to USA Nationals. SC Midlands has had one of our teams go 7-1 in the Big South National Qualifier only losing to eventual champions in 2014. Aside from other gold finishes, in 2010, we had one of our teams go 9-0 becoming National Bid Champions at the Northeast National Qualifier!

High Academic Volleyball Showcase (Date TBA May/June 2018)
The annual High Academic Volleyball Showcase is normally held in June at The Southern Volleyball Center. This showcase is focused exclusively on matching colleges/universities with high academic standards with prospective student-athletes with the grades and scores necessary to secure admission and thrive in such an environment. Last year’s event was termed a “10” by all of the coaches and players with whom we spoke. Over 100 brainiac athletes were on hand to display their volleyball skills to college coaches ranging from big Division I programs like Georgia Tech and Florida State (they like smart athletes too!), to smaller, academic-focused institutions like Agnes Scott and Berry College.
