South Carolina Midlands Volleyball Club has many great coaches. We care about our athletes and teach them many lessons that reach beyond the court and walls of our gyms. Many of our coaches have garnered a variety of district championships, region championships, state championships, national bids, as well as appearances at the USA Junior National Championships. Our coaches are experienced in club, school, and college settings.

USA IMPACT Coaches Certification: At SC Midlands, all coaches are required to be certified through USA Volleyball. Committed to providing the safest environment, USAV is the only program licensed to accredit volleyball coaches in the United States. Every coach on our staff, is required to obtain training certification. Proper USAV certification is important for all who work with your children. Be sure to require this for all coaches who come in contact with your child.

Additional Certifications: In addition to IMPACT Certification, some of our coaches are also members of the Positive Coaching Alliance, and the American Volleyball Coaches Association. New this Year! All coaches will receive training as part of Team USA's SafeSport Program.

Anton, Skyler

Skyler Anton played for Blythewood High School where she was a four year Varsity member for the Lady Bengals. Skyler has 9 years of club volleyball experience playing on national level teams beginning at a young age. Skyler has volunteered at many youth clinics in the area, and enjoys coaching young athletes.

Barthe, Helen

Coach Helen Barthe is a senior at Cardinal Newman High school, she has played volleyball for six years for South Carolina Midlands. She has been a varsity player for three years and was recently a captain of the state championship Cardinal Newman volleyball team. She plans to continue her education in college pursuing a degree is civil engineering. Coach Barthe found her love for volleyball at a young age playing kids power, and is hoping to share and encourage other young girls to find the love for volleyball that will follow them throughout their lives.

Black, Dominique

Dominique is a senior at Blythewood High School. She was a four-year member of the Blythewood High School Volleyball program and played club volleyball at SC Midlands for three years. In the past, Dominique has volunteered at volleyball clinics and she has also assisted her former middle school’s volleyball team during the summers leading into her sophomore and junior years.

Bygraves, Jenae

Coach Jenae Bygrave attended Blythewood High School . She now will be pursuing her athletic and nursing career at Columbia College. Volleyball has made her who she is today. Coach Bygrave started volleyball in 7th grade at Longleaf Middle School then next started her high school career at Blythewood High. Determination and discipline drive her beliefs that anything is possible.

Carraway, Kayla

Coach Kayla Carraway graduated from Lugoff-Elgin High School and continued her studies at the University of South Carolina where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. This is her 3rd year teaching Kindergarten at Wateree Elementary School. She played volleyball all throughout middle school and high school, as well as on an Elite travel volleyball team for Alpha and Omega, SC Midlands, and Magnum. She previously coached basketball at Lugoff-Elgin Middle School for 1 year and is the current Head Volleyball Coach at Camden Middle School where she has been for the past two years earning a Back-to-Back Region Championship. When she is not teaching or coaching she enjoys hunting, fishing, and painting. Coach Kayla Carraway is excited about coaching the 18s Performance team and sharing the love of volleyball!

Carter, Kelly

Dimapan, Cynthia

Dimapan has extensive experience in school and club. She has mentored many of Columbia's top players on their paths to the collegiate level. Her club teams have had top finishes both winning the region, winning a National Qualifier, and qualifying for Nationals multiple times. Currently the head coach at Cardinal Newman School, Dimapan has accrued four straight region titles, an appearance in 2019 SCISA 3A State Championship, and she was named SCISA 3A Region I Coach of the Year. Dimapan, Glen

Dimapan is a head coach and recruiting director at SC Midlands. Coaching since the club began in 2002. Dimapan has coached all levels of the club from Kids Power, Region, Performance, to National Elite teams of all ages. Glen's has been to USA Junior Nationals several times, as a head coach and/or assistant coach. He has also been to AAU Nationals each year since 2002. In 2016, coaching SC Midlands 18 National to the finals of the 2016 AAU National Championships, where his team was lead by AAU National All-Stars Mackenzie Taylor, Alli Bell, and Gabby Waden. Dimapan currently coaches at Cardinal Newman School as the Assistant Varsity Coach. The team has won 5 region titles and most recently won the 3A SCISA State Championship in 2020. Downs, Mackenzie

Downs is the head coach of the Westwood high school JV volleyball team and assists the varsity Westwood High school volleyball team. Downs attends the University of South Carolina as a sophomore majoring in mass communications. She played volleyball for 4 years as a setter before having to end her career due to 2 knee injuries. Downs started coaching after her injuries and is now in her 5th season as a club coach.

Gandara, Carisia

Gandara started playing volleyball at a young age and ended up receiving a volleyball scholarship to play at Odessa College in Texas. Although from El Paso, Texas , Gandara and her family move to South Carolina a couple of years ago. Gandara coached in Texas and for SC Midlands last year. This will be her second year with us. Gandara is also the middle school volleyball and basketball coach for Cardinal Newman. She is currently earning a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Sports Performance. Coaching is her passion. Coach Gandara looks forward to coaching this season and meeting everyone.

Geosits, Jessicca

Coach Jessica Geosits has been involved in volleyball ever since she can remember and has a lifelong passion for this sport. She has played on various different club teams throughout her life spending most of her time at Spooky Nook in Lancaster, PA as well as playing for her school team since elementary school. In high school, she was also the boys team manager and helped out with their practices. She has also coached kids soccer and and basketball and is very excited to coach at Midlands this season.

Goings, Jordan

Jordan Goings has played volleyball for four years. She has played as a DS/libero for Westwood High School, and has also competed on SC Midlands national elite team for several years. Goings enjoys working with younger athletes who are trying to learn the sport.

Harris, V'Aira

Coach V’Aira Harris is a recent graduate of Benedict College where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Computer Engineering. Currently she is an Application Security Engineer at Blackbaud Inc. Commitment to excellence describes her character, athletics, and community service. Athletically, she served as the Team Captain for two consecutive years on the Benedict College Volleyball team. She received awards such as Pre-Season Player of the Year, Pre-Season offensive Player of The Year, and Pre-Season First Team All-Conference tournament team as an outside hitter. She led the conference in service aces, and she was selected one out of six women that made up the Women's Volleyball SIAC All-Tournament Team. She also received an Offensive Player of the Week nomination for week nine with 35 kills and 9 aces.

Haynes, Jordan

Coach Jordan is a Lugoff-Elgin High School graduate who is now in her last year of studies at Central Carolina Technical College. She started playing volleyball at Alpha and Omega Volleyball Club when she was in just the third grade. She continued playing volleyball throughout middle school and high school, as well as playing for Kershaw County Juniors Volleyball Club. She just started her coaching career as the Assistant Coach at Camden Middle School where they just earned the title of Back-to-Back Region Champions. Coach Jordan is passionate about the sport of volleyball and looks forward to this season.

Radford, Tristany

Coach Radford is a native of Columbia, SC and graduate of Blythewood High School. A four year varsity starter, Coach Radford was unable to play at the collegiate level due to an injury but she is excited to continue her involvement in the sport through coaching. As a former player of SC Midlands, Coach Radford feels right at home being back on the courts at Plex. She has coached both JV & Varsity at Camden High School, and before coming to Midlands, coached at KCJV in Kershaw County where she also teaches 4th grade. Radford has coached a Nationals team for SC Midlands and traveled to AAU as both a player and a coach. She is looking forward to another year great year at SC Midlands!

Jacobs, Cassidy

Jacobs attends Columbia College. Jacobs has played school volleyball and club volleyball since she was in middle school. Now playing volleyball at Columbia College and finishing her second year as a collegiate athlete, Jacobs will be coaching a 13 region this year. She coached as an assistant with SC Midlands last year.

Lorimer, Becca

Lorimer attended and played at Columbia College. Lorimer played school volleyball starting in middle school and played for clubs around the Georgia area. Lorimer is a sophomore setter at Columbia College and coached as an assistant with SC Midlands last year.

Martin, Hayleigh

Martin played volleyball for 6 years at Cardinal Newman School and 5 years at SC Midlands. Currently a senior attending the University of South Carolina, Martin returned to Cardinal Newman where she has been the Head JV Volleyball coach for the past four seasons. This will be her fourth year coaching at SC Midlands, and she can’t wait to work with the 15 National team!

Moore, Gia

Morrill, Robert

Coach Robert Morrill is in his first year at SC Midlands, and looks forward to helping the players develop their technique, while still having fun. He played 4 years of high school volleyball at Newtown High School in Connecticut, where he was a three-year varsity starter and two-time captain, and was first team all-region and all-state his senior year. Coach Robert also played club volleyball for Mizuno East Volleyball Club in Connecticut, where he won Team MVP in 2018 and 2019. He currently plays on the University of South Carolina Men’s Club team, as well as plays competitive grass outdoor tournaments. He began coaching with clinics for the Fairfield County Juniors girls team, and was an assistant for the Newtown High School Girls Volleyball team in 2019. Coach Robert was an assistant Varsity Coach for Cardinal Newman this fall, where they won regions and the 2020 SCISA State Championship.

Rispress, Chania

Coach Chania Rispress played volleyball for 10 years. She attended Blythewood High School playing in the 2016 All-Star North South Game. She also received Offensive MVP during her junior and senior year. Chania attended Claflin University. Chania assisted our 15 national elite team and was the head coach of our 15 region team.

Robinette, Grace

Originally from Bowling Green, Ohio and a graduate of Bowling Green State University, Coach Robinette is a teacher and coach in Kershaw County. She teaches 7th grade math and has coached for 5 years at the middle school level and last year with SC Midlands. Robinette played volleyball in high school and loves to watch our Lady Gamecocks play.

Scott, Elizabeth

Scott was a multi-sport athlete at Cumberland Valley High School (PA), competing for state championships in volleyball, basketball, and softball. As a senior, she was a Class-AAA First-Team All-State and MVP of the Mid-Penn Conference Commonwealth Division. Scott played Division I Volleyball at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) on a full 4 year athletic scholarship as an outside hitter. She was a member of the Horizon League All-Academic Team her Junior and Senior year. She played club volleyball for Union Volleyball Club in Louisville, KY, Yorktowne Volleyball in York, PA and Synergy Volleyball in Philadelphia, PA, since she was 12 years old. She was selected for the USA High Performance team for two years with the Keystone region. She has coached various volleyball camps and clinics in IN, PA and NE. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences and plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Sisti, Janna

Janna Sisti began coaching with SC Midlands during the 2011-12 season around the same time that her daughter Natalie started playing. Janna took a short break, but is excited about coaching Kids Power again. Janna’s main goal as a coach of the Kids Power group is to make sure the girls learn the fundamentals of volleyball, and more importantly, that the players have FUN and enjoy every moment of their time with SC Midlands Volleyball. You will sometimes find Janna assisting in the day to day operations of the club.

Slatton, Abbie

Abbie Slatton has six years of volleyball playing experience. Slatton played on the 14, 15, 16, 17, and now plays on the 18 National Elite team at SC Midlands. She is also a four year player at Blythewood High School. She joined SC Midlands as a 12 year old athlete looking to grow and become the player she is today. Slatton has been helping young kids learn to love volleyball since she started helping coach in her free time during her 14's season, assisting on and off at SC Midlands. Slatton has also volunteered at Blythewood High School volleyball camps during the summers.

Stevenson, Keyairra

Coach Keyaira Stevenson attended Kennesaw State University 2011-2015 where she played collegiate volleyball as an outside hitter. She started her coaching career with A5 volleyball club for 4 years and was also the assistant coach for Kennesaw Mountain High School for 3 years. She is currently the Head Volleyball Coach for Columbia College and is on her 5th season with the Koalas. Coach Keyaira Stevenson is very excited about coaching for SC Midlands, and it will be her first year coaching for the club.

Taylor, Aisha

Taylor is in her third year as a coach for SC Midlands. Taylor began her volleyball career at Hillhouse High School in New Haven, Connecticut where she was a four-year varsity letter winner. She was an All-Area selection for the SCC Class M division in 1997 and went on to win the 1997 SCC Championship. She went on to compete in track and field at the University of South Carolina where she was a team captain of the 2002 NCAA National Championship team and a four-year SEC scholar-athlete. After completing her undergraduate studies, Aisha went on to graduate from the USC School of Law and is now serving as Commissioner, South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Commission.

Taylor, Mackenzie

Mackenzie Taylor played club for SC Midlands for 4 years before transitioning into coaching. Taylor led her SC Midlands team to a top 2 finish at AAU Nationals earning a title as an AAU Nationals All-Star. Mackenzie received multiple Division 1 offers and committed to play at Elon University where she played one year. Taylor moved back home for school purposes and to be a mother to her now 2 year old. Taylor has received All State awards, MVP awards from every year in high school and specializes specifically in front row hitting with skills in defense and setting. Playing on Varsity since her 8th grade year, Mackenzie attended White Knoll High school, but graduated from Gray Collegiate Academy. Taylor currently attends Midlands Technical College where she is pursuing a degree in Marketing.

Taylor, Michaela

Michaela Taylor is a native of Camden, SC and a graduate of Camden High School. As a former SC Midlands player herself, Michaela learned the skills and dedication it takes to play college volleyball and played for four years while obtaining her undergraduate degree. Currently, she is the varsity assistant coach for Camden High School while attending the University of South Carolina’s graduate school. Michaela has previous coaching experience with KCJV in Kershaw County but is excited to be at SC Midlands for her seventh season as a club coach.

Taylor, Natalie

Natalie played for SC Midlands for 9 years before transitioning into a coaching role. She attended Lugoff-Elgin High School, where she was a 4 year varsity starter, earning various accolades along the way, including most versatile, defensive player of the year, all region, and all state. She specializes in defensive skills, but is knowledgeable in many other aspects of the game. She currently attends the University of South Carolina, majoring in Criminal Justice, and proudly serves in the US Army National Guard.

Wilcox, Dawn

Wilcox is originally from Galion, Ohio. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Ohio State University and her Master's Degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University. In 2008, she moved to South Carolina to teach middle school math. She spent one year as the assistant coach at Kelly Mill Middle School. Since then, Wilcox has spent the last several years as the head coach at Muller Road Middle School, where she led the Mustangs to multiple district titles. Wilcox teaches 7th and 8th grade mathematics at Muller Road.
