National Teams

These teams are the most competitive.  At SC Midlands, National Teams compete for the Palmetto Regional State Championship, as well as have chances to win USA Volleyball National Bids at the State Championships.  We will form National Elite teams beginning with 14U and continuing through the 18U division. Players will receive high-level skill training and participate in tournaments both in-state and out-of-state.  To be considered for a National Elite Team, players normally have at least two to three years of club experience at the younger ages and six to ten years of experience at the older ages. Here are some benefits of playing for a National Elite Team at SC Midlands:
  • FULL USA VOLLEYBALL MEMBERSHIPS: SC Midlands is proudly returning to both USA Volleyball and the Palmetto Region in 2015! This means that SC Midlands will continue as FULL fledged supporters of USA Volleyball! USA Volleyball is the organizing body for High Performance Camps and the United States Olympic Men and Women’s Volleyball Teams.  Our teams are automatically invited into the Palmetto Region USA State Championships! This makes it a win-win as we compete in SC’s officially sanctioned USA State Championship featuring 25-30 plus clubs.
  • USA VOLLEYBALL NATIONAL BIDS: Because of our invitation to the Palmetto Regional State Championships, SC Midlands teams have a chance to win USA Volleyball Junior Olympic National Championship bids in EVERY age division! Imagine winning a National bid and representing the wonderful state of South Carolina! We’ve done it before! Let’s do it again!
  • HIGH LEVEL COMPETITION FOR ATHLETES: SC Midlands Volleyball believes in entering its top teams in high level tournaments.  We will travel to Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and a few other states.  College bound athletes gain exposure to recruiters and competition in different arenas.  Be seen in 2015!  Click here for more info.
  • TRAVEL BENEFITS: Aside from exposure to a wide variety of college coaches and showcases, SC Midlands families benefit by visiting different places (like Richmond, Atlanta, Charlotte, and Orlando).  Although we play locally as well, SC Midlands National Elite Team tournaments are specifically chosen for the exposure, quality, and diversity of competition.
  • AAU NATIONAL MEMBERSHIP: Aside from membership in the Palmetto Region of USA Volleyball, as well as the USAV Volleyball National Organization, we attain AAU Membership for our National Elite Players. We strive to attend USA Nationals, primarily a qualifying ONLY event, but teams that do not win bids may attend AAU.
National Elite players have goals to play at the collegiate level, or are willing to commit to help others achieve this goal. Teams are formed based on similar skill and similar talent level, and not necessarily by age (younger players could be placed on older age division teams).   Our goal is for all National Elite team players to play at high levels .  Thus, National Elite players will be placed on teams that give them the greatest opportunity to improve through training and playing time.  Teams will practice/play two-three times per week and play in regional as well as out-of-state tournaments.  National Elite Team members require a very HIGH level of commitment.  Season:  December-June/July
